on the top of my fuel tank (45 gal under) to the rear is the pickup L
fitting..looks to be threaded in with pipe fitting compound.. theres a jam nut affixed to this between the fitting and the tank...its corroded and broken..there only remains about one third of it..looks to be white metal....the fitting is tight in place with no leakage. wondering if this need to be replaced / repaired....thanks in advance , bob

Fuel pickup check valves have caused restricted and no fuel flow problems for me in 30 year old tanks. Years of fuel varnish and sediment and check ball does not release with fuel suction. Now is a good time to replace it.
