I Have a 13 foot whaler super sport limited. The motor is an 1987 evinrude 40hp. Motor is in great shape but no tilt. I bought a cmc pt-130 tilt kit. I saw another person with one> it weighs about 46lb I think. My motor is around 190lbs I am guessing. Anyone have any experience with this unit. Is this to much weight? I know I am on the edge but I hate lifting motor everytime.

I removed a broken one once,
it's a heavy duty unit!
The bare aluminum didn't seem to like salt water,
so I'd just make sure to rinse it carefully each time.
Seems like an easy fix vs finding installing an original t/t,
which has got to be at least 30 lbs anyway

Yes I took the old engine off yesterday in preparation of the cmc unit. The transom looked good! I'm hoping its not to much weight. Maybe someone who has one already will chime in. Isn't aluminum impervious
I have 13 Super Sport (not Limited) with 1986 Mercury 35, (reported to weigh ~150 lbs.) and the CMC PT-35. The PT-35 weighs 24 pounds. I preferred the handling characteristics before adding the PT-35 but really needed the trim due to shallow water operation. These are great units but could use better saltwater protection as mentioned above. This was the best solution for me.
FYI, the CMC Product Catalog shows the PT-130 weighing in at 39 lbs.
