Member Posts: 23 Comments: 0 Joined: 09/18/15	New to me 18 ft Outrage. Boat has sat a couple years around fir trees. Needed a good bath and scrubbing when I got her home. Previous owner had moved the leaning stand to the back and used a cooler with chairs for driving. Twin 70 HP Johnsons, that I was told are original from 1984. They were last ran a couple months again and had new steering cables etc installed. Motors look very clean on the inside. Good scrub job really helped. Need to float the boat to ensure all is good. Was thinking to re-power with a 150 HP Tohatsu, which I can get installed for $9700 from the shop I bought the boat by trading in the Johnson motors. But I think I am going to replace the batteries, get some new gas and try to fire up the Johnsons and sea trail the boat. Want to ensure it is a keeper before re-powering. Teak gunwales were standard and fiberglass were optional at an extra cost until about 1986. In 1986, fiberglass were standard and teak were optional at an extra cost. (Don't quote me on the exact year but 1986 is close enough)
