GeeWhiz boating conditions in Finger Lakes

Many launch sites in NY Finger Lakes are located on inlets and outlets. With all the rains lately there can be a 2 or 3 knot current at these launch sites....WITH NO SIGNS of the current. Very easy to mis-judge approach or launch seeing the stern swing wildly away from trailer and/or dock.

Saw stressful scenes last week at Penn Yan, NY boat launch on Keuka Lake.
