1971 16/17' I have the old fixed pilot seat but the bottom edge of the plywood is so worn its completely disintegrated. I need to know the original height. If someone could give me the height of seat, from floor to the bottom of the seat slats. I would greatly appreciate it. I have already used the old seat to build two new plywood seat supports but I need to cut them off at the right height.

Thanks for your input.

David

This is to David and any other members re-building the wood fixed pilot seat. It always bugged me when I sat on the seat it was too low. So I was always standing up. When I re-built the seat I made the side supports about seven inches taller and moved the seat about five inches back from the console. This made it much easier to get at wiring and stuff under the console. I also put a foot rest across the front of the seat. I know there are alot of purists who feel these things shouldn't be altered but it made a huge difference .Plus the extra room under the seat allowed me to build a storage locker that fits under the seat. Hope this is helpful. Chris
