I have a 1974 Montauk and would like to know the paint colors for the hull and interior if anyone knows them. I was told "desert tan" but not sure what the interior would be. Any help would be appreciated!

Thank You!

By the time your hull has been "oxidized" for the last 40 years
I doubt very much that the original polyester/gelcoat color has remained the very same..
From documented Spectrum data the hull color is "Pale Grey"
The decking and inner structures are "Desert Tan".
A fact to remember will be that paint is not the original product here.
Gelcoat should be the way to go.

My 1979 has both the Grey as well as Desert Tan. Desert Tan from Spectrum is a good match. I mixed 3 parts Desert Tan into 5 parts Grey for the grey to match. Out of the container Grey not even close. I used gel coat but I would imagine the paint tinting with the same color formulas should be fairly similar.

I have a1978 Montauk and was wondering the same thing, interior vs. exterior hull color...thanks! Was there a year when both exterior hull and interior became the same color? Or are all the 'classics' comprised of those colors?

Regarding the Montauks (and all 16-7" hulls), in 1983 the boat hulls became all Desert Tan. For Montauks 1973 - 1982, the original exterior color code used, called Outrage Gray, has been lost by Boston Whaler, and Whaler has given incorrect color information to both Spectrum and Mini-Craft. I have tried the Outrage Gray of both manufacturers and found them as Garris describes, totally incorrect. For anybody with any of these boats, the exterior color has to be custom blended, beginning with the bad match Outrage Gray and adding Desert Tan for the correct blend. This exterior hull color was also used on the 19 and 21 Outrage and Revenge boats of 1973-1979. Nor is there a correct color code match available for the 1971-1972 Ribside Outrage models, which are the same color inside and out.

I have no informtation on the 1973 and later 13's and 15's.
