Bought hull #00154 yesterday out of Merrick, LI. All original parts except bow rail. A different basket case than my current 00562. It will need a complete restoration as well. Couldn't pass on it since it has a 2005 Mercury Verado 200 hp with hydraulic steering and electronic throttle all worth about what I paid plus the cost for me to have it shipped down to Sarasota. Seller basically threw in the boat for buying an engine. Still need to figure out who is going to do the work on both boats as time/skills and day job will prevent me from tackling them myself.
I have had a few conversations with Mike at Nautical Lumber / Neptune Marine to handle the restoration work as he has told me that he has done 5-6 of them and owns 2 himself. Any thoughts on that?
I will take and try to post pics once it arrives in a couple of weeks.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions or comments. - Ed
Now that is a bit of great news Ed...
And this in the fact that I could not find one of those here to save my life.
I am sure that;for the right coin;Mike would contract out a splendid job for you. https://www.facebook.com/NauticalLumbericalLumber
Another good source would be Metan Marine http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=305xcA...yoIiZ2JfWC
For the pricey repair tag,one will admit that they do a premium refit.
As far as I am concerned
I could do the work for you but would charge you in the swap for your second 21 Classic et all for the work done.
Good luck on your refit and hope that you have enough disposable income to give justice to your efforts...
Thanks Serge - I wish I had the skills to do a job like you did - absolutely gorgeous! I realize the restoration will be pricey but overall less than buying a relatively new 21' center console that has none of the personality.
