Question on installing new drain thru hull 13' Sport
I just recently removed the plastic thru hull that is the drain out of my 1998 13' Sport because it was leaking and I ordered a new one from twin cities marine. The thing that puzzles me is I have test fit the new plastic thru hull and the flange of the thru hull exiting out back of transom doesn't fit flush on the bottom leaving a gap. I then reinserted the old plastic thru hull and it was the same way. So I assume you just have to caulk the gap on the bottom part of the drain flange with 4200 so it doesn't leak into foam? I guess I assumed it would fit flush.
That would be a fair assumption in my opinion.
The 20 degree draft of the transom may explain the gap at the bottom.
Should be good to go with your approach.
