How to Choose between the 13O Super sport, 150 Super sport, and 150 Montauk.

I am considering purchasing one of these fine boats. My wife and I are retirees who would like to cruise around our coastal bays. I would also like to occasionally fish the bays with a couple of buddies. All of them would fit in our garage. I am having a tough time deciding among the three boats. The 130 seems to be a nice boat for the wife and me to play with, but I'm wondering whether it would struggle with three or four adults aboard.

Both the 150 Super Sport and the 150 Montauk would appear to serve the two types of use i have in mind. The dealer in Southern California (our area) said that they sell a lot of the 130's and Montauks, but they don't sell very many 150 Super Sports. Although I hope to use the boat for several years, God willing, I would hope the boat to have good resale value.

I would appreciate any input from members as to considerations or opinions as to choosing among these three fine boats.

Thank you.

The 130 Super Sport would be too small in my opinion for fishing with a total of 3.

The best choice would be the Montauk 150 as you can walk around the console and still have more room for relaxing and cruising.

The 150 Super Sport would be my second choice but harder to fish from and walk around in.

Don't believe everything you hear from a dealer. His job is to sell.

I would look at what is parked at the marina's and at the boat ramps.

For 4 persons, I would say the 150 or even 170 Montauk is a good choice.

Keep in mind, boats look big on a trailer but feel very small on the ocean.

Given the price of new boats, I strongly urge you to consider a late model used Boston Whaler. The depreciation hit leaving the dealer is huge.
