Was there originally a stern light on the 1960's-1970's 16 Eastport (or Sakonnet or Nauset)?
Our 1971 Eastport does not have one and I do not see any obvious spot where one used to be. It only has a bow light and a tall light on the console.
Hmm. I wonder if someone moved the stern light to the console? What do you think?
HEre is a pic. The light is on a short pole on the port side of the console. http://s1195.photobucket.com/user/hea...2.jpg.html
Is it illegal in Florida not to have a light right on the stern? The console light is high up, so it can be seen a long ways.

I winter in Ft. Myers and summer in St. Joseph, Michigan. It’s now about 12 years since I’ve joined this group. I gave my 1972 whaler to my daughter and sold the 17’. Bought an O’Day 28 sailboat and sailed on Lake Michigan. Yesterday I bought a 2005 130 Sport.
In Texas lights are required, day or night if your boat is 16' or bigger.
I once got a 150 dollar citation from a Texas game warden for not having a stern light on my 16' aluminum jon boat. It was broad daylight and I argued the point with him but he insisted if the boat is 16' lights are required day or night. Long story short I had to pay the citation. I know you are not in Texas but some of you Texans might not know this.
