1976/77 13' Whaler Sport, just bought a new mahogany set through Specialty Marine. I have reached out to Specialty since the console appears to not fit as expected but haven't got a response - wondering if anyone has come across a similar issue.
The console (a tad larger than original specs) won't sit flush on the riser without being completely off the mounting block attached to the deck. (see picture http://bit.ly/1vSrDbr)
The last console I had on their was a custom piece and I'd like to restore back to original luster - question is: Should the console attach to the riser (which I assumed, considering the fasteners included)? Could I possibly have a console which is just not compatible with my model (HIN was lost - 6 pin Stencil is 2B6433)?
Thanks,
Mike
Split your lungs with blood and thunder, when you see the while whale(r).
Mike, you may be fortunate in that you can adjust the height of the console to fit your needs by trimming the vertical piece on the inboard side.
I winter in Ft. Myers and summer in St. Joseph, Michigan. It’s now about 12 years since I’ve joined this group. I gave my 1972 whaler to my daughter and sold the 17’. Bought an O’Day 28 sailboat and sailed on Lake Michigan. Yesterday I bought a 2005 130 Sport.
