with Yamaha 650cc/50hp. She's been in the Family since 1994..and has run at Annapolis, Ft Meyer/Sanibel/Captiva, Wrightsville/Southport/Bald Head NC, Hilton Head Island SC areas as well as lakes in NC & SC..but just wore out.
Hasn't run in 7 years but in last three I've replaced all water propulsion chamber parts with new & used parts off Ebay, starter, coil, rebuilt carb, new race prop, bearings, motor mounts, etc...but electrical box smoked on me last year so I quit.
But, on Monday April 28th I'm taking her in to a mechanic I can trust (in business run with wife, their son-in-law & daughter & their daughter plus 5 other tech mechanics; @ standard $90 hour). Am willing to open my wallet up to as much as $2000-$3000 worth of general repairs (electrical work, finishing up many loose ends, having running lights installed, bottom work/paint, etc) since she's only worth about $2K as is..and maybe up to $5K max when fixed and running.
Never had so much overall fun with a boat (runabout, sailboat or kayak) than this little charmer..even though rather slow at only 22-25 knots but she can skirt around the water's edge without worrying about hitting something underneath..normally!
I'll fill you in on how it works out. Cheers!
